Manchester is the city and a metropolitan area of Greater Manchester in England. It forms part of the English Core Cities Group and is depicted as the “Capital of the North.” It is the haven of arts, media, higher education and business establishments. The city is the third largest metropolitan area and is the second largest urban zone in the UK. It is the fourteenth most populated area in Europe.

The city provides ideal base for recreation facilities, it plays a key role in the development of nightclub and the DJ culture. Manchester provides base for two symphony orchestras named the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the Halle Orchestra. There are two famous universities, the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, which makes it a hub for higher education.
