Middlesbrough comforting in the North East England is a large town with a decent population. The town was also known to be the centre of the county borough of Teesside. With a vast history to flaunt its glorious past, Middlesbrough started off as a small settlement and further flourished into an impressive modern day town. The wind of development reached here during the early 1829, when Joseph Pease the Darlington industrialist thought of Middlesbrough as a port for North East coal. Soon railways also arrived in the town giving the place a major achievement.

This university town showcases a rich variety of Victorian houses and ancient buildings making the town more of an elegant place. This heritage still reflects the historic significance of the town. Apart from that Middlesbrough holds many impressive sites to explore. One of such oldest delight is the Acklam Hall, this building built in around 1680-83 by sir William Hustler displays the magnificent example of English architecture. The town houses the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, known for its art works and also holds the second largest collection of Picassos in the UK at present. What more? Sports too have an active role in the town’s fame, the Premiership football team, Middlesbrough F.C is a successful football team of the town keeping its name in the sports world.

The modern day Middlesbrough has transformed from the industrial heyday place to a pulsating university town. With a blend of ancient and modern culture the humdrum feel is now no more associated with the town.
