Coventry is the bustling city located in the West Midlands of England. It is credited as the ninth largest city in England and the eleventh largest in the United Kingdom. Considering the population Coventry is the second largest city after Birmingham. It is located 95 miles northwest of London, 19 miles east of Birmingham. This city is far from the coast than any other British city.
Coventry was also accredited as the world’s first ‘twin city’ soon after it forms twinning relationship with the Russian city of Stalingrad, now known as Volgograd during the Second World War, it is also twinned with Dresden in Germany and 27 other places around the world.

The statue of Lady Godiva the most famous resident of this city according to legend; she rode through the city naked on horseback in protest against the tax hike being implemented by her husband Leofric, Earl of Merica. While she was riding the residents of the city were ordered to look away but one man watched her and he was allegedly struck blind. He came to be known as Peeping Tom, thus the new idiom came into existence. Other than this there are many other prominent personalities who hail from this famous city.
Coventry enjoys a well connected transporting links and it has full fledged rail, road and flight services. The city is located close to the M6, M45, M69 and M40 motorways. The Coventry railway station is connected to the West Coast Main Line and there are frequent rail services between London and Birmingham. The Birmingham International Airport is located towards the west and is just 17 km away. The Coventry Airport in situated 8 km away from the city centre in a place named Baginton from there Thomsonfly serves commercial flights to over 20 European destinations.
Coventry Canal Basin offer another mode of transportation, it terminated near the city centre and is navigable for 61 km and extend up to Fradley Junction in Staffordshire.
