Just got the following email from a customer:

Morning,

Another quick question for you i'm afraid! Ok, whilst I was phoning companies and asking for quotes before I actually booked with yourselves, one of the companies I tried was Last Night of Freedom.

The guy I spoke to there called me on the weekend just to see if I wanted to book with him or not, to which I told him i'd already booked with yourselves. He asked a few questions about what price you'd given us for what events etc etc.

He asked how much deposit I'd paid and when I told him £69 he tried telling me that he doubted you would be able to book the hotel in advance with so little deposit. He reckoned that you'd wait for cancellations before the event and book it that way - essentially that nothing would have been reserved at the hotel for us yet. Is this the case?

Last thing I need is to be told a few weeks before we're due to go that you couldn't book it for us - especially considering how busy they seem to be around that time.

Naturally I wouldn't have even thought about this, but after this guy phoned me I'm sure you'll understand that it worried me so I wanted to confirm all this asap.

Just to clarify, we as a company have allocation from hotels in different cities as we send so much business to them, therefore we don't need to take big deposits.  Also because of the volume of business we send we also can get very cheap rates for stag and hen groups.

It's a bit naughty what Last Night of Freedom said, but times are hard and I'm sure they are just trying to get business.
