Rage buggies at Dirt Drifters
What on earth is a Rage Buggy? I hear you ask. It's pretty simple these dune buggy-style off-road carts are one of the UK's fastest-growing racing crazes and offer one of the most exhilarating driving experiences around. It may look a little funny but the Rage Buggy's cumbersome appearance belies its 600cc Honda V-twin engine, with a maximum speed of 50 mph and a set of chunky tyres to absorb whatever shocks you throw at it when you're careering round the bends of this place.
The 900m track features a blend of hairpin bends, chicanes, straights and long sweeping corners to test you to your limits and guests are actively encouraged to slide round the track using opposite lock and drifting techniques.
Be warned, this is not a clean sport - in the wet weather you'll be scrambling around in the mud and even on dry days, the crew have a tendency to get the hose out and give the course a soaking for some extra sliding.
As well as Rage Buggy driving, the centre offers a range of other activities including quad agility biking and trekking, a 4x4 driving experience, reverse steer and trailer reversing, apache rally buggies, archery and an 80ft high wire slide. Group visits and corporate visits can be arranged.

We went to Dirt Drifters. I can't say it was exciting. It's a very tame experience due to health and safety regulations probably. My buggy was the slowest of the pair due a binding back brake, which eventually caught fire ending my run prematurely, I wasn't offered another run.We paid a lot for a very short run on a tame track. The staff were very nice though.
